The Abertis-USP Chair is linked to the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and is directed by professor Liedi Legi Bariani Bernucci.
The Abertis award was presented for the third time on 5th November 2018 at the 32nd Convention of the National Association of Transportation Research and Education.
In the Doctoral Thesis modality, the award went to research into the waterway management of the Tocantins river by Lílian dos Santos Bracarense (Universidade de Brasília): “Elementos para um Modelo Inovador de Parcerias Público-Privadas em Infraestructura de Transportes: Estudo Aplicado à Hidrovia do Rio Tocantins”. In the Master’s Thesis category, acknowledgement went to a work that proposed a method to assess the productivity of toll booths by Tulio Silveira Santos (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro): “Procedimiento metodológico para evaliação de desempenho de praças de pedáagio com uso de simulaçao”. In the Road Safety category, the award was won by Karla Cristina Rodrigues Silva (Universidade de São Paulo) for the research titled“Avaliação da transferabilidade de modelos de previsão de accidentes em rodovias de pistas simple no Brasil”, a model for forecasting road traffic accidents on conventional Brazilian roads.

The exhibition “Miró: la experiencia de mirar” (Miró: the experience of looking)was held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 25th November 2017 to 25th February 2018.

In the previous summary we indicated that the artist Joan Miró maintained a close link with the avant-garde scene in Paris from his youth until a ripe old age. The exhibition sponsored by Abertis at the Grand Palais enabled the Catalan painter to return to the French capital.
